Emilia Clarke’s latest style is truly fit for a queen.
The Game of Thrones alum embraced the summer vibes, trading her natural brunette locks for a new honey-blonde look consisting of golden and caramel blonde highlights along with lighter money pieces.
She showcased her new ‘do during the Formula One British Grand Prix at the Silverstone motor racing circuit in England July 7, where she posed with Ferrari racers Charles LeClerc and Carlos Sainz.
Emilia isn’t a stranger to switching up her hair. After all, she played the platinum blonde Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones during its eight-season run and even rocked the icy blonde look offscreen while filming the final season. However, she later offered some candid advice for others looking to make that drastic change.
“Don't do it,” the 37-year-old told Harper’s Bazaar last May. “It ruins your hair, so just stop bleaching it. If you want to have the blonde hair, just get a wig or pimp up hair with some highlights because it completely ruined my hair.”
In fact, achieving her snowy white locks took a considerable toll on her hair, which she doesn’t plan on doing again. Now, she prefers a more subtle but equally chic style.
“My hair felt like straw and was falling out,” Emilia admitted. “Then I cut it all off. The thing I'm most proud of getting my hair back to a good place. I do nothing crazy to it now and use really beautiful products. I get a bit of lighter color put through my hair sometimes and I love that.”
She also noted that dyeing her hair platinum like Daenerys at the height of the HBO show’s popularity ultimately made her more recognized in public.
“I’m thinking, ‘Ah, I’ll go back brown and then maybe be a bit more incognito again,’” she explained to Harper’s Bazaar in 2018. “You clock anyone who’s got this hair color anyway, so you see someone with peroxide blonde hair, you look, and then [people] go, ‘Oh my god, it’s that chick from the show with the dragons.’”
